The New Wave

The goal of this project is to explore the design styles of different historical periods, with a focus on creating celebratory products inspired by the New Wave movement.

Pioneered by Wolfgang Weingart, New Wave design broke away from traditional grid systems, embracing expressive typography and experimental layouts. His influence can be seen in the work of his students—April Greiman, Dan Friedman, and Willi Kunz—who pushed the boundaries of legibility and visual structure even further.

Drawing from these characteristics, this project aims to highlight the core features of New Wave design through a dedicated exhibition and a collection of celebratory design pieces.
